Damage Control Demonizer
Question: A buddy of mine just got one of these, a Damage Control Demonizer Premp pedal. ALl I got to say is wow. : . It is literaly a Mesa in a pedal. I got to play it last night and it did some awesome light bluesy stuff and it could go insane too. I've added a damage contral pedal to my wish list now. They are awesome. We ran the pedal through only the power stage of his amp, so it was just the pedal and you couldn't tell the difference. If you need tube tone, but have to go direct, this is your box! Answer: Interesting. How much? Answer: I'd be interested to hear the thing direct. I've seen it before, online, and it interests me. Answer: Ive seen reviews on gearwire.com, and they sound great..like really great, but as for getting it, i wonder if it would go well with my xtl? Answer: Originally Posted by Hopeful Interesting. Answer: Ive been researching the damage control stuff, but the womanizer one....alot and It sounds pretty darn great, real versitale. can be bluesy to almost all styles of rock. I personaly like the womanizer more than the demonizer...i think it would like better on the floor of a stage at a church. lol Answer: If I had not gone POD, and I had a tube amp, I would deffinatly consider purchasing that thing. It just seems so perfect for what I would need Answer: Originally Posted by jamforchrist123 If I had not gone POD, and I had a tube amp, I would deffinatly consider purchasing that thing. When I played my buddy's we bypassed the preamp portion of his mesa head, so we weren't getting any push or distortion from the tubes. It sounded awesome. I run through a 100 watt samson PA system at home, so this is ideal, as I don't want a huge amp. Once I save up the dough i'll probably go with the womanizer myself. What's the difference? Answer: Originally Posted by Building429_Boy They also have a $199 version. What's the difference? On MF i see several Damage Control Pedals ranging from $199-$399, but I don't see any cheaper version of the Demonizer, only the $299 one. Er, yeah, I meant the different model. The $199 one. Compared to the Demonizer or the Womanizer. Answer: Originally Posted by Building429_Boy Er, yeah, I meant the different model. The $199 one. Compared to the Demonizer or the Womanizer. it looks like the more expensive one has a different EQ circuit. Also, the $299 ones are called "preamp pedals", the $199 is just a pedal...so maybe the circuit is different in that way as well. http://www.damagecontrolusa.com/productsmain.htm the two $299 pedals are in the "Direct Recording" series. The $199 pedals are just "amp channel pedals" Answer: I listened to clips online somewhere and the sounded like crap....It sounded like they'd recorded it direct without any speaker emulation or something....very very harsh and brittle. Please tell me that it doesn't sound like that through an amp. Answer: which one did u check the pre-amp one or the pedal one? Answer: To be honest.....I don't know......I didn't know there were two then....but I think it was the $299 one......not really sure tho.....it was a few months ago when I was in the market for a Dist.
