Transporting my PODxt Live
Question: Does anyone have any cool (more importantly "safe") ways for transporting a PODxtL? I'm too cheap to buy a gig bag...but I'm wondering if anyone has any cool substitutes (besides an 'official' gigbag or case) Answer: Originally Posted by guitarman531 Does anyone have any cool (more importantly "safe") ways for transporting a PODxtL? I'm too cheap to buy a gig bag...but I'm wondering if anyone has any cool substitutes (besides an 'official' gigbag or case) Well, when I transport mine, I usually have a billion cables + a small mixer going with me, so I usually pile it all in a suitcase that has wheels. Answer: I would seriously check out the Gator case (I can find a link if you're interested). Fits the POD perfectly and it costs only $20 or so. Quite durable as well. Answer: The actual podxtl case is perfect. Only like $70. Lots of room for other cables etc. too. Answer: Originally Posted by Curtishart The actual podxtl case is perfect. Only like $70. Hmmmm....the "only like $70" part is where you lose me I really don't have that kind of money right now...that's why I was looking for alternates (I like B429Boy's suitcase idea--we have suitcases around my house). Also, if anyone's actually hand-built a case, I would be interested in hearing about that too.... Keep the ideas coming! Answer: I like the idea of a bag w/ a strap you can wear over your shoulder. Answer: just use a small suite case, that should work pretty perfectly Answer: Originally Posted by ibanez_dude I like the idea of a bag w/ a strap you can wear over your shoulder. Yeah, me too. Did you have any specific (eg. the "Pac-Sun" messenger bags) ones in mind? I have no idea if Pac Sun makes messanger bags....it was just an example. Originally Posted by dsqu4r3d just use a small suite case, that should work pretty perfectly Yes, this is looking like it will be the best solution so far Thanks for the feedback everyone! Answer: Maybe you could stick it in a laptop case. I've seen laptops that are like 24"-30" wide so it might fit in there. Answer: Originally Posted by guitarman531 Yeah, me too. Yes, this is looking like it will be the best solution so far Thanks for the feedback everyone! Also, with the suitcase, I stick some extra padding in there to keep it snug (aka towels and some foam stuff) Answer: Gator case Answer: Yeah, the Gator Case is only $20. I personally have found that the unit fits nicely in one of my bass gig bags. pretty convenient. Answer: I think the suitcase idea would be the cheapest and would work fine. Answer: I always heard that they were really durable, so unless you're pampering it, I don't think you have to worry a whole ton about safety, unless of course you're talking about like on an airline, in which case, the suitcase would be best, and I might pack it with some towels or something for cushioning. Answer: Thanks guys for all of the input! I hope this thread isn't too old to update, but I've figured out a way to transport my POD and I wanted to share it with other users... Christmas has come and gone, and left me with a fair amount of money in the form of WalMart gift-cards. I have decided to purchase a pistol case from Sams Club. It's the right size, well padded, and made out of some serious polycarb plastic. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
