Wah with my acoustic
Question: I had always thought of the Wah effect as being used solely for funky and psychodelic sounds but I'm thinking differently about it now. I was playing around with the wah effect on my Zoom A2 with my acoustic guitar (see setup in my sig). I noticed that when I used the wah on the lowest settings, where the "wah" sound is not particularly pronounced, it takes some of the spikiness and harshness out and makes the sound more smooth like an electric guitar. Anyone else use their wah this way? What other ways can the wah be used? If I add an expression pedal to my A2 are there other toneful things I can do with it besides just controlling the amount of wah? Answer: I take it back. I was fiddling with several things at once on my A2. It wasn't the wah that smoothed out the sound, it was the limiter that I added to the patch. I have heard somewhere about the wah being used as a tone pedal by keeping the wah pedal in one position; I don't have an expression pedal to try that out. Answer: The wah just shifts a ceratin accentuated frequency. You probably can try an EQ effect to get the same effect as a wah set in one position. Answer: I use the wah pedal alot when I'm leading... especially with the faster songs to create a fuller sound when I don't have "enough instruments" Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
