Answer:
It's a filter controlled by the mouth via a small speaker, a tube, and a microphone, popularized mostly by Peter Frampton. Sort of like an organic wah.
The speaker send the guitar sound through the tube, and then the tube goes in your mouth, where the shape of your mouth changes the tone of the sound, then that gets picked up by the mic.
