What do you suggest?
Question: Alright its time for me to add something else to my array of effects. I was wanting to know what you guys' opinnions are. I'm looking for a special effect, not your typical OD or Distortion. My Effects right now: MXR Smart Gate CS-3 Compression Sustainer Seymour Duncan Twin Tube Classic Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive Dunlop Crybaby Classic Whats next? Answer: Delay would probably be the next step, that is if you think you'd use it. Style and context play a huge part of it. If for instance you are a lead guitarist in a contemporary worship atmosphere, delay would be a reasonable shout. If you are a funk rhythm guitarist, maybe a bit of phaser or something like that. You could maybe consider an octaver pedal, but of fun and an overlooked solo pedal for beefing up your sound. The best bet is to go into a shop and ask to use a POD with some headphones and find an amp tone you use regularly and just play around with some effects. You could use a Boss ME-50 or GT-8, but the tones from them aren't always desirable and don't always give a really good representation of the actual effect. Answer: It's sounds like you're getting effects for the sake of having effects. IMHO, effects are needed when you realize you want something more in your tone, usually something specific. Answer: Well, the reason I want more effects is so I can start using my stompboxes in my gigs. I don't have a reliable amp, and regular OD's don't sound good through a PA system IE, the Digitech RP300A I have. SO, I am trying to mix it up, and get more than just a OD in my sound. Answer: Sounds like you need a cab modeler more than you need a stompbox. Answer: What is? Answer: So what do you need? From what I'm gathering, you need something that will plug right into the sound system from your gear. Answer: I am honestly looking into the POD XT Live, because I can record on the comp with it, and easy access around different churches, since most have only PA systems. I have found some really good patches for that as well. POD XT Live? Answer: Modulation Answer: Im getting the podxtl for christmas and im so excited i could pee my pants...if you want to go for a cheaper buy you could go for the floor pod. It does the same, but has alot less. i have the floor pod and it sounds amazing through the pa's but im selling it now becausee i dont need it... Answer: How about a reliable amp? Answer: I second the Delay recommendation. It adds sooo much... Just my 2cents. Answer: This is a liiiittle old. *clopsed* (Tim, if you still want help, shoot me a PM, and I'll get this reopened for ya) Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
