3-Band EQ Settings
Question: I just got a Peavey Rage 158 and I wondered what some good settings for the 3-Band EQ would be. I like to play hard rock, so major distortion. Answer: Just set everything down the middle, and then start messing with it a lot. The settings between every player and between every amp will vary endlessly. Turn your gain up... and then do what Rainer said. But a general thing here would be lots of bass, almost no mid, and a good bit of trebel. Answer: Put your bass on about 6 or 7. Put your mid on 2. Put your treble on 10. This is what i use for the ultimate metal sound. Answer: Originally Posted by thomaspg70 Put your bass on about 6 or 7. Put your mid on 2. Put your treble on 10. But a general thing here would be lots of bass, almost no mid, and a good bit of trebel. This is what my would-be original post said. Answer: When I play hard rock or metal or something, I usually put my bass to about 7, mid to 10 and treble to 6 or 7. I get good chunky tones hard rock tones. Answer: My shredhead friend always sets his amps to 10 Bass, 0 Mid, and 10 Treble. Answer: Depends on the amp. Answer: I use a 31 band eq to get a good metal sound, but leave my bass, mids and treble all on 10 so I have max gain... But then a rockmaster has fairly strange controls. Mids are going to be weirdly subjective, but as a general rule starting with the bass on 10, mids on 5, and treble on 10 is usually where I start for metal. Also, rythymn or lead? Lead will sound better with the bass knocked down somewhat to allow for better note definition. Answer: Thanks! I'll try 'em out. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
