I would recommend buying new. You can purchase the unit from musiciansfriend.com and pay the extra $50 to get a two year extended warantee giving you a pedal guaranteed to work for 3 years for $300 (and you don't have to pay tax or shipping!)

I bought mine used. I've had it about a year and a half, don't know how old it is though. I've been pretty happy, no problems until recently. One of the switches has started to act up a little. I think I fixed it though...we will see.

I just bought one for $200. It was B stock for cosmetic reasons on eBay from some store. When I got it, there's the tiniest scratch on it, and I still get the manufacturers warranty. All for $200. Not bad I think.
