Pedal Board (maybe)

Question:
Okay, I just got my first Musicians Friend catolog today, it has ALOT of pedals, so I went through, found a few I like/want I am just posting this for some comments/suggestions, remember this is mainly a wishlist!
Post your recommended list of pedals for me!
Answer:
Sounds pretty cool. Have you listened to online, and do you like, the sound of the death metal? A lot of "metal" pedals have a good grunge sound for metal, but they have nothing else. Like, no soft distortion/overdrive, just, well, grungy metal sounds. You may want that, but I would really recomend paying the extra and getting the Visual Sounds Jeckyll and Hyde pedal (110.00). Its 2 pedals in one, overdrive and distortion, and it is the best pedal for overdrive or distortion available IMO. Many others on here have said that as well, so make sure you listen to the metal pedal first. I had a similar experience, I really really wanted a Boss Metal Zone, but when I played it, all I could get was grunge sounds. The other pedals sound great, but I would probably get a delay instead of phaser (right now anyway, phaser still rocks) because I find it more useful for most styles of music. Delays are a bit more expensive, so do what you want. The crybaby rocks, definitely get that. Anyway hoped that helps, and if you have any questions, PM me. I have a Boss DS-1 Distortion, TU-2 Tuner, a Dunlop Crybaby, and a Korg Pandora PX4 effects processor, in case you have questions on those. Good luck with your pedals!

Thats what I figured (about the metal distortion) so, what are some good distortion for like, worship? And, some rock, like Thousand Foot Krutch, Kutless, Skillet Switchfoot ect. and at first, I wanted the DS-1 Distortion, but for some reason, I changed.
Answer:
Of the bands you mentioned, I'm sure some, if not all use a fulltone fulldrive 2.

K, I will look for that,
EDIT: They dont have them at musiciansfriend.com, but I found one of ebay buy it now for $160 and $10 shipping,

Or, coudl you look for a site that sells them?
Answer:
switch the phaser with a digital delay
to me, it's best to have the big 3 down: distortion, wah, and delay
phase shifters like wah's are cool effects, but delays are almost indispensable when it comes to soft mellow worship songs.
i noticed that when the guitar players with HUGE pedal boards lead worship at my place, wah, dist, and delay are the main effects they use. Also, you can get some nice slow sweeps with the wah that can keep you from needing a phase shifter for a while.
one last point: though very popular, boss pedals are not necessarily the best so keep researching.
best of luck!

Not worth $59.95! They always go on sell. You could wait. But, I wouldn't pay that much for that pedal.
If you want something good for worship a tube screamer is a good overdrive pedal.
Also, a delay pedal might get more use out of a phaser pedal. But, that's up to you.
A good delay is the Boss DD-5. Or the Line 6 delay pedal.
If you don't have a tuner, that's always a very good investment. The Boss TU-2 is cool and it can power your other pedals. So that's good.
Answer:
the tu=2 CAN'T power your other pedals...it just has a plug for your daisy chain.
and from what i've heard, the digitech xdd is better than the boss dd-5.

Well, that's what I meant. You don't have to buy a power supply for all of the other pedals because the tu-2 can power up to 6 pedals in a daisy chain but you'll have to power your tu-2.
Answer:
or you can just get a daisy chain with an input plug :-D
Answer:
what plug? have you done it?
Answer:
For the love of God, don't buy those pedals new.
DS-1 you shouldnt pay more than $30 for, the Crybaby, you can get for as little as $20 if you search well enough, and I'm sure you can find the phaser for a whole lot less than that too.
