what is your favorite tone and how do you make it?
Question: Well i wanted to start a thread with peoples favorite tones and how it's created. here's mine. I have a Pod XTL so i sorta used all the effect i could at once. I used the AC30 amp drive and i set it fairly high. I added an analog delay set to whatever tap i want. I added reverb, a little bit of chorus and i used an equalizer as a boost Answer: My favorite for church uses the Marshall Plexi Lead 100 model. Gain is moderate - just enough for a dirty clean. I believe I use the Tube Driver model for distortion - it is left on most the time as I like the sound, and I generally control gain amounts by varying pick attack and slight volume knob changes on the guitar. Other then that, about all I use is the standard digital delay. Feedback and Mix are set to around 34 for both. On the rare occasions when I need a wah, I use the standard model, though occasionally i'll use the Chrome Custom. I still need to EQ my other channels for my Carvin Bolt, but when I do, i'll also use the Twin reverb model with a bit of compression for really clean sounds. Delay settings will be pretty much the same. Answer: What's a favorite tone? One of my favorite tones ever is plugging my Epi Emperor into a Roland JC120... yes... Or my LP into an AC30... yes... Or my LP into a Twin Reverb... yess... Answer: Used to be my 73 SG into my 63 AC30 with a Fulltone FD2. Now its my 73 SG into my Div By 13 ert33 with a FD2 Anniversary Mosfet. I kind of took the sound I liked and added that extra 1% that probably only I can hear. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
