a good metal pedal
Question: Im looking to buy a metal pedal. ive been looking at the Digitech Metal Master and the Boss Metal Zone. I havent been able to try any of them out but i will soon. do you guys have any other pedals that i should check out? my price range is under 100$. Answer: i use to have a metal zone before i got out of music that ...... well i dont want this comment deleted so i'll just say i had it when i use to be into metal. its great if you play real metal, such as metallica type tone. i wouldnt recommend for nu metal or hardcore. its got that great crunch with the scooped mids, great for what i call the horse galloping palm muted pattern of triplets. it will also get a tone similar to medadeth and old ozzy, (blizzard of ozz / randy rhoads) i dont listen to or support these bands i just dont know any Christian examples. Answer: Im playing from a Crate xt65R...its not that great but i kinda like the clean channel. anywayz.. i found out im not looking for a metal pedal..im looking for like a heavey distortion..lol i dont think that makes sense but i found that the Digitech Grunge pedal sounds pretty good to me. i think im going to go with that one. Answer: The Metal Zone is a good pedal. I used to have one but I had to use it (along with basically every other pedal I own) as a trade in on a Boss GT-6 processor. Sometimes I wish I still had the MT-2 still instead. I'm not a big Digitech person, but I think they have a variety of distortion pedals that vary from mild crunch all the way up to melt your face metal. I think there's about 6 of them. The DOD/Digitech Grunge models seem to be pedals with a love/hate reputation, that is...owners either love them or hate them. Answer: I also used to have a MT2, but I sold it without any regret. I found that you could get great heavy sounds from the pedal when playing alone. When I used it in a band setting the sound wasn't cutting trough the mix at all. Now I use the Visual Sound J&H, the Hyde channel gives also very nice heavy sounds that will stand in a band. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
