Who needs a Head with a Cabinet ?
Question: Hi, I'm planning to buy my Amp in the next months. The issue about which Amp I will buy was not difficult at all.... 100% Marshall. But the issue with the Watts is still a tricky thing and on top of that, is a Combo ok ? or should I go for the Head+Cab (super cool) investment, knowing that it will probably be too much for my church...?? If I buy Combo it would probably be: Marshall TSL 122 If I buy H+C the equivalent: Marshall TSL 100 with 1960AX Cab (both are 100 Watts) So my church is a new building for around 1300 ppl. Not that big.... and my main issues are: If I get the Combo I will probably regret that for the money I'm already investing I didn't got the Head+Cabinet, it doesn't only look cooler but has better sound. If I get the Head+Cabinet I might feel ackward with such a big beast at church (being the only guitarrist using such a beast). Our Lead Guitar plays with a Marshall TSL 601 and tells me that his 601 is more than what we'll ever need.... but somehow my Testosterone tells me there is more in life than just 60 watts from a Combo.... Ohhhhh well..... thanks for your insight.... again... Answer: Solutoin...Get a head and get 2 2X12 cabs. That way you get a half stack when you want it and at church you get a single 2X12 cab under your head so it doesn't look so intimidating. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
