"Where do you play?" at home no gigging? no plans to gig? "What kind of music do you play?" all types (switchfoot-bethany dillon-superchick-relient k-barlowgirl-and more) So, pop-rock and pop-punk... umm... wow... Classic 30's are really cheap... i guess if all you want is a practice amp then you might find some crates under 100... Answer: sorry but these days nothing is free... Answer: I have a practice amp and i hope i can play a gig soon and i play like a lot of alt/rock to Answer: I'd say come back when you have at least $400. Answer: yeah.. at the very least... 600 would be better... Answer: I have a B-Day soon and I just need sum advise on a good amp i don't care if the amp is used Answer: A good starting point will be, how much $ will you get/parents spend for your birthday. Without that one factor, any advice would be useless. BTW...you can snag a peavey Classic 30 off ebay for 250-350. Id go that route Answer: umm... I don't really know how much We normally get for B-Days. maybe like $100-150. but like i was saying I don't really know Answer: Originally Posted by AXguitar yeah.. at the very least... 600 would be better... i think that that's a little too much, especially for someone who's, as of now, just playing at home. if you're only gonna be picking up 100-150 from your birthday, i'd say save taht up until you have around 250-400 or so. i think anywhere between 250-400 should be able to satisfy your needs. with that you can pick up a fender blues jr (250-400), fender pro jr (150-300), fender hot rod deluxe (around 400 used i think), peavey classic 20 (125-300) or classic 30 (250-600), or a crate palomino or v series (i dont know about either of these). i think all of those (maybe minus the pro jr) have perfect volume levels for playing at home and even at gigs, and fit your genre of music. i personally own the blues junior, and i've used it to practice in my tiny dorm room (the size of a walk-in closet), and to play in front of 50-250 people, both indoor rooms and outdoor stages. of course, i did have my amp mic'ed. Answer: Looking for a practice amp? Roland MicroCube Looking for a decent amp for cheap (250-350)? Vox AD30VT or AD50VT Answer: All you're gonna get for $100-150 is perhaps a practice amp. If all you need is a new practice amp at home, then, cool, get a Roland MicroCube. But if you want to play anywhere which has an audience, and actually upgrade to a louder amp, try saving up some $. Answer: Vox Pathfinder. 8" speaker, 15 watts. $119 on-line. +1 Roland Microcube as practice amp Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
