looking for a multi for $200 and under
Question: I'm looking for a multi effect for $200 and under. Please no Digitech's they suck! Answer: Originally Posted by Adam89 I'm looking for a multi effect for $200 and under. Please no Digitech's they suck! If you're talking about the RP series, you might have a valid gripe, but I've heard good things about the GNX line of multi-effects. Answer: I like my RP100. Answer: Find a used POD XTL. It's possible for that much, although it may be hard to find one. Answer: ive been playin guitar for 3 good years and and ive had an rp200 the whole time. To be honest i havent had any problem with it at all. Its got a lot of versatility on the sounds you can get, and its got a tuner and an unused drum machine. But lately ive been jammin with guys that have singe effects and i realize what im missing out on. I really dont know much about many other multi effects pedals but my hunch is that in the long run youd do a lot better for yourself if you started working up a set of single effects..but if multieffects is what you want the rp200 aint as bad as you might think.. Answer: I love my PODxt Live. Possible to find for $200 if you're patient and know where to look. Answer: I use a Boss ME-50, Spent 150, and that seems around the average used. As with any multi effect, they take a lot of time to set up good patches. I would say that the factory presets generally "suck" but you can get some decent sounds with some tweaking. You can find a lot of user patches posted on the digitech website. The main shortfall I have found with the RP is the lack of a tap function for the delay. Check out the Zoom G2 for $99. It has faster processor than the Pods. I have the acoustic version (A2) and have been very impressed with its quality. It certainly has the best acoustic modeling I have heard. If you add a footswitch it will give you the tap function for several effects. The only shortfall I have found with the Zoom is that they don't have a user forum on their website for patches. If the pod XTlive is the king of multi effects, the G2 is the messiah..... Answer: Originally Posted by Griffon ZOOM G2. If the pod XTlive is the king of multi effects, the G2 is the messiah..... It will certainly SAVE you some money Answer: so you've used up your one bad joke for the day....hehe Answer: My only complaint with the G2 is that unlike my old GFX-707 you have to set everything up before hand with the knobs... the 707 was kind of on the fly. Answer: thanks for the suggestions Answer: And don't forget that Musician's Friend is blowing out the Magic Stomp for $79.99. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
