Acoustic FX
Question: hey guys, i chatted with a bunch of you a few days ago about using the POD XTL in worship... and i bought the POD! (haven't gotten it yet) anyway, now my question is -- what acoustic FX pedal do you recommend? i have been looking around and am reazling that pickins' are pretty slim, but it seems like the Zoom A2 is the best bang for the buck. what do you guys recommend? thanks! p.s. anybody USE the Zoom A2 in a worship setting? or otherwise? Answer: I think thaqt you can use and acoustic with the POD. Not sure, though. Answer: I'd wait till you get the Pod and see if you can't get what you want out of it. There are enough effects and preamp models that you should be able to get a good acoustic sound out of it. Answer: ok cool, that's what i was thinking. i forgot to ask if the two seriously overlap, or if the Zoom would provide some uniquely acoustic-designed sounds that the POD wouldn't... but you guys read my mind and answered my question anyway. The Zoom has matched impedance for undersaddle pickups w/preamp that the POD does not have. The Zoom is also EQed for Acoustic and has a feedback eliminator. I have had the Zoom 404II for about a year and it works well at reducing the piezo quack and making the sound warmer and more natural. I don't like the effects as much because it doesn't have very many and it doesn't give you much control of them. I just ordered the A2 and should be getting it on Friday. I will let you know how I like it. Answer: The POD is still plenty flexable. Between using the parametric EQ, the tube preamp patch, the piezo pickup patch, and all the other tone shaping options on the POD, along with all the FX available, I'm sure it's plenty useable at least. Especially reverb and compressor. And chorus. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
