loop effects

Question:
im lookin at buying a loop effects pedal but im not sure what kind i should get. i would like one that is easy to use and isnt above 300$. thanks----Nick
Answer:
I greatly prefer the tone of the Boss/Roland RC-20XL over the Digitech Jamman; I think that those would be your top two options for more less than $300.
I just recently purchased the RC-50 which blows them both out of the water, but for a much higher price tag.
What it came down to for me was that I could not take the 'digitized' signal from the Digitech, but I wanted the increased storage space and USB capability it presented. Therefore I got the tone of the boss (which is amazing), with the Computer communication of the Digitech, and a ton of other great features, like multi or single loop mode, three seperate phrases within each loop, sub, main, and headphone outs (assignable), midi compatability and more.
Answer:
what kind of looping are you looking for? Are you just going to be jamming with yourself? Or are you looking at doing loop based music?
Answer:
The Boomerang Phrase Sampler is more than you want to pay, but check out ebay or some used stores and you can probably find something under $300. I recommend it way more than anything else.

you know, next purchase on my list is the Boss RC-50.... i'm with Hellfighter -- can't beat the tone. and it's a boss!
Answer:
ok, I guess I'll throw in the BOSS RC-2. If you're just looking for something to use when you jam with yourself, this would probably be right up your alley. The RC-20 and RC-50 seem better for loop based music. You could also look into the EHX 16 second delay, though it's more of a hold delay than a proper looper.
