Anyway, I'm picking it up tomorrow evening.
Answer:
he still has a nice amp to make up for it...
Answer:
Yeah, if I could afford an MTS, I might not bother buying a POD. It depends on how all the channels are, though.
Answer:
You'd be surprised. My Yamaha has great clean channel, great overdrives, and an insane drive channel... and I got a PODXTL. It's all about what you use it for.
I know most of the PODXTL owners around here also have very nice tube amps.
Answer:
I dunno. I'd probably find just a few settings I like with a POD, a clean, overdrive, and high gain, but hey, who knows? I haven't been exposed to many amps, so there's a possibility I would want more. For some reason, individual pedals appeal to me more, but I have no money.

yeah yeah yeah....
Answer:
Individual pedals are nice, but the POD is so much cheaper than a pedal rig.
Answer:
Had about an hour or so to play around with it through headphones. This thing does it all. For high gain, I'm liking the Soldano model right now.

*shakes head* I've had my foray into Digital....I will NEVER buy another processor as long as I can get away with it. When it all comes down to it....it just isn't pure tone. Perhaps that's just my opinion....or perhaps i just had a bad experience...but I've never heard anything digital that sounded as good as analog. Worth the extra cost IMO.

Did you hear Rainer's "Pod vs. Tube amp" comparison? Where he played the same song at the same time with tube amp panned one way and Pod panned the other? I honestly couldn't tell the different.
I really think that analog pedals are overrated.
