what does this tern mean?
Question: OK guys....I don't know what this means, so I hope it's not offensive. It was coined to describe one of the "tones" that Eric Clapton used way back in the late 60's with the Bluesbreakers and Cream - when he used Gibson guitars. Its just a Gibson/humbucker guitar with the neck pickup (and maybe both together) selected and the tone control rolled way back, played thru a cranked amp. I think it was used for lead/single note stuff as opposed to chording. Personally, I don't care for that, it sounds muddy and lacking in high end to me, but apparently some like it.
