I got a DD5 and DS1 for $60!
Question: Hi everybody On my local craigslist, I found an awesome deal. I got a DD5 for 60 bucks! The guy I bought it from gave me a slightly whacked DS1 with it for FREE. It works, but if you turn the distortion knob over 60% it freaks out...but if you dont turn it up...no problem. Then, the part Im most proud of... I made my own tap switch for 5 bucks. I had a metal box a wallet came in. I went to radio shack and bought a 2.99 patch cable and a 2.99 momentary switch. I then drilled a hole in the top of the box (for the switch) and the side for the cable to go into. I cut the patch cable and soldered the 2 ends to the 2 leads of the momentary switch and Viola! And the DD5 is AWESOME...I just need to learn to use it more Attached are some pics. Im leaving monday (tomorrow) for childrens camp. If anybody has any tips on how to get awesome sounds (either by settings or strumming/picking techniques) I will be glad to hear them when I get back! Answer: Nice work. The DD5 is definitely the more desirable compact Boss delay in my eyes for its external tap that the DD6 lacks. I just got a Giga-Delay (DD-20), though, so now I'm in heaven. Answer: thats insane. I got my DD5 for $70...well actually I got a Digitech XDD for $70 then I traded it for a DD5. $60 for both of those is a great price. I love my DD5 (I just went with the Roland tap) Answer: I envy you. I've been looking for a delay pedal, but they're too freaking expensive. DARN YOU AND YOUR LOW PRICE FINDING SKILLZ!!!11 Anyway. That's a really good deal. May they serve you well. (It's that easy to make a switch? I should have paid more attention in Electronics class in high school...) Yeah tahts why the frickin morley switch thing costs so much. But i guess i got a deal i didnt have to buy mine. My Youth Pastor found laying in the garage brand new at the church office and gave it to me. Answer: I'd say "Urgh! Give it to me!" but I already have a sweet delay, so I'm not complaining. Answer: I built a new pedalboard and used it on sunday at church. It looks flippn sweet, but the angle is very high, and its hard to use the volume or wah. I know it sounds crazy but I have a new one Im already working on. Pics coming soon...of both! Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
