The oxymoron amp?
Question: That is pretty much an oxymoron. A black orange: http://cgi.ebay.com/1978-ORANGE-AMP-...QQcmdZViewItem Answer: yeah, those are EXTREMELY rare, and i really respect the dudes wishes that it not be split up, that would just be a shame... I read somewhere that Orange did that to attract more metal bands to buy the amps, because they said the orange tolex just didn't look cool on stage (you have to remember that the 80's was a musical wasteland and it just wasnt cool to have any bright color...) so they made the "Black Stack"... but they were rare and expensive so they were discontinued... i believe that's the story, i'm trying to remember the whole article but it's been a while it was online but i can't remember where i saw it... Answer: Originally Posted by AXguitar you have to remember that the 80's was a musical wasteland and it just wasnt cool to have any bright color... And bands wore spandex... Dude, this is insanity. Metal in the 80s was full of loud colors, weird shaped guitars... Thats the era you will find hot pink x shaped guitars with floyds in them designed for shredders. Please, I went to a few rock concerts in the 80's as a little kid. One the lead singer wore a pink leoppard skin suit. Then there was stryper I saw, and the hurricanes, and more. Now please, when it comes to crap like this, just stop it. Answer: Haha...that's pretty much what I was thinking. All those Kustom amps and cabs with the red/blue/purple/silver/etc sparkle coverings that looked "upholstered" sort of like furniture with the little buttons came to mind when I read this. Nobody bought them. That price was pretty high anyway, rare or not. Those were definitely in pristine condition, though. He mentions Orange going out of business in the description...but they're in business now. Did they close up shop once upon a time and get bought again or something? Answer: WHOA that is a PA not a guitar rig!! I have an oxymoron amp ( a pair of um actually a head and a combo ) ! The Fender Prosonic looks like a mild mannered normal mid 60's blackface Fender with the cleans to match but the crunch channel has flamethrowing SHREADING gain that will melt steel !! Answer: that wasn't my opinion, it was something i read somewhere, and the thing is meant for guitar or keyboard so it's an amp but it's not strictly a guitar amp...
