Buying a power amp for my POD Xtl
Question: any suggestions? I was thinking about Carvin's tube power amp. Answer: Originally Posted by Casey any suggestions? I've seen those amps, they're pretty cool, but I have the floorboard unit, and I'm planning on plugging it straight into a power amp. Answer: Why not go straight into the PA, letting the power amp for the board providing all the power and use any amp as a stage monitor? Answer: because I want to hear it through 4 12"s. EDIT: I see what you're saying. It's possible, but wouldn't I still need a power amp since I don't own an amp? Answer: Originally Posted by Casey EDIT: I see what you're saying. I think what he's saying is that you can just run it through any old amp for personal monitoring onstage, and run through the PA for house amplification. Answer: I'm also interested in what the power tubes will do to my sound. Let me first say that I'm extremely pleased with the tone of this thing - it's just unbelievable. But if a tube power amp would make it sound even better, then why not run it through a cab and mic the cab? Answer: I think the idea with these modelers is to allow you to create your own amps and to match them with cab models, including a 4 X 12. But, I guess you can create a totally different sound with another amplifier. The possibilities may be endless. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
