Behringer V-Amp 2 In Praise Band

Question:
Anyone out there use this pedal for their electric guitar in a praise band? I'm looking for some settings or effects that some of you may use to get a good sound, whether it be a more distortion-driven setting for fast songs, or other settings or effects used for slower songs or anything else.
Answer:
I have a V-Amp2; but, I don't use it anymore since I got my Digitech GNX3000. The Digitech is way better to me. I'm sorry, this doesn't answer your question.
Answer:
Behringer....Praise and Worship....its very hard to use those in the same sentence. Behringer guitar equipment was made for hardcore stuff...especially the effect units. I mean, unless your audience is goth-punk-lets-go-headbang-ourselves-into-coma's type people...ok, maybe thats an exageration.
You should try out whatever you can before you buy. IMHO, save your money, get a GNX or PODxt Live

Generally Behringer is simply a budget brand. I've seen alot of Behringer products used by churches for their sound systems.
The V-amp2 is Behringer's POD 2.0 clone. I'm sure with some tweaking you can get some decent sounds from it. I don't have any recommendations as to settings though, but I have thought about buying one for home use.

I have a V-amp2 that I use exclusively. I'm not really sure what kind of sound you're looking for, or what kind of guitar you're using, but I'd be happy to maybe give you a hand.
Answer:
thesteve, one of my local dealers "specializes" er whatever in behringer. I've played floor units, halfstacks, racks, and cabs, and the only thing I could get out of em is hard rock. Praise and Worship never crossed my mind.
Now dont get me wrong, i'm sure if you sat down and tweaked it enough you could get an ok sound but thats just what they SEEM to be built for.
Answer:
I have never run across a multi fx unit that had more than a handful of useful presets. Tweaking is a prerequisite.

I used a VAMP 2 with my American Strat for years for worship, and it worked just fine. I had a bank of 5 patches that I used:

1. a reverby ethereal sort of sound to use with volume swells
2. a creamy clean sound, possibly some delay
3. same as 2 with a volume boost
4. overdriven sound
5. same as 4 with a boost and maybe a bit more crunch

My only advise would be to make sure and NOT crank the gain. Most of the time, a little sounds way better than a lot.

My amp was made for hard rock and heavy metal, my wah pedal is the signature model of one of the big nu-metal stars (Mark Tremonti, I got it more for the pedal than the name), my Les Paul is one of the staples of hard rock. I coax perfect P&W tones out of that gear.
That said, what effects you use will (or should be) generally be based purely on the song and situation you're playing in. Get to know the pedal and see if songs call upon one of the pedal's strengths, then use it.

I know the less paul is used alot in hard rock, but where do you get that it is a staple in hard rock? Ha, maybe that doesn't make sence...

Because it just is? I hardly think many folks could disagree with that statement.

I understand what you mean, it just seems that.... I don't know what I am saying. Your right,

It's OK, brainfarts happen.

Though I would concur that the LP is definitely one of the staples of rock music in general, hard rock definitely being included. Considering that two of the LPs most famous players (aside from the man who's name is on them all) are Jimmy Page and Zakk Wylde, I'd say it's one of the staples for sure.

Thats kind of what I was trying to say, I just didn't know how to say it

I think that, aside from the Terms of Agreement, there needs to be a "People will disagree with you on this board" contract for new members. lol
