Small practice amp
Question: Hi my friend needs a small practice amp for home use. He doesn't need any kind of effects or anything special on it. Just something small and cheap because our church has a huge amp. Can you all recommend anything? Thanks! Answer: I say the two best small practice amps are the epiphone valve junior and the roland cube 15 watt. But that is just me... Answer: Anything lower than like 90-100 dollars range area that's good and lasts? Answer: Originally Posted by hankooksahrahm Anything lower than like 90-100 dollars range area that's good and lasts? I know Vox makes the VR15 I think. It has a preamp tube in it. Not made anymore, but might be able to get them on ebay. http://www.voxamps.co.uk/history/prodArch/vr1530.htm Answer: My buddy has a Vox Pathfinder 15R that is very good for the money. You could probably get one used for less than $100. Answer: Crate's not bad for a 15W practice amp... i have one, was my first amp, it wasn't good, but it wasn't as bad as (random example of ultimate musical badness, for me it would be NSYNC being played everywhere i went all the time, just like the late 90's) Answer: I like the Cube 15 and MicroCube. The MicroCube is fun to have around even after you get nice big amps. Answer: Yeah, you could go micro cube. Like rainer said, it is just an all aroudn fun amp Answer: A cheap little Crate should do the trick. Answer: Personally, I wouldn't recommend the Crate... I've got a Crate 20W and it makes everything sound the same: blah give the Microcube a try (it can even be battery powered!) Answer: Go for a valve Junior. It'll blow the crate out of the water. A roland Micro cube might be fine for some... but I would get, did get, a valve junior. Answer: Originally Posted by thomaspg70 A cheap little Crate should do the trick. Nah, don't even go there. Go for a Roland Cube, mirco or otherwise. -Nick Answer: Originally Posted by Rainer. I like the Cube 15 and MicroCube. The MicroCube is fun to have around even after you get nice big amps. And you can carry it in a backpack. Answer: another one for the cube series. awesome little amps.
