Digi Effect Amps for under 200$???
Question: Hey I was just curious, i've been looking in to buying a new amp (my current one is a Marshall MG10CD Amp) and i was looking in the $150 - $200 price range. I was really interested in the digital effect amps (mostly the Ibanez Toneblaster 15D, or the Peavy Transtube 258 EFX) but i was wondering if they are really worth it under $200?? or am i better off going with a regular amp? Any help is greatly appreciated! Jason Answer: Look for a used Roland Cube 30. I just sold mine 'like new' with a pair of foot switches for $175. Good models of various tones and decent digital effects. I think I paid $230 for mine new. Answer: Digi effects AHHHHH!!!! go tube man! try and find a nice deal!! Answer: Why don't you keep your amp but get digital modeling pedals? If you're playing live with a digital amp you'll still need a footswitch to change settings. If you really want to go with an effects amp, try a Roland Cube (15 or 30), a Vox valve, or a Tech 21 Trademark 10. Those amps seem to get the best reviews and are close to your price range. Behringer is also inexpensive and gets good reviews. Answer: So is it worth getting a digi effect amp??? or am i better off getting say a tube amp and getting an effects pedal board for it?? Jason Answer: Get a tube amp. Seriously, all the guys telling you tube is the only way to go may get annoying, but are making your life much, much, much better. Answer: Tube amps are nice to have but you'll have to pay the price -- figure on spending $400 minimum for a brand new entry level tube amp. Modeling amps are a fine choice because they're in your price range, and you'll have a wide variety of amp sounds to play with. As your tastes (and earning power) develop, you can buy the amp of your dreams later. I think for now you'll be very happy with a Roland Cube 30 or a Vox AD30VT. Answer: The only modeling amp I've ever like was the Roland Cubes. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
