GGMTTTP This should be in guitar, or theory & technique. A "drop tuning" is an alternate tuning to standard where you "drop" or lower the pitch of one of the strings. Standard being EADGBe. The most common form is pobably drop d. Which would be DADGBE. Answer: ok but i don't know what dadgbe is supposed to sound like Answer: Originally Posted by GGMTTTP ok but i don't know what dadgbe is supposed to sound like Do you have a tuner? If so, just tune up normally, except for your low E, tune it to D instead. If not, do you tune by ear? You can tune your low E to D by using the seventh fret of your E string and matching it to your A string. Answer: Or just tune the E and D strings the same. Answer: Drop tuning is tuning your strings low. Drop C is CGCFAD. Answer: Drop tuning means the person playing guitar wishes they were a bassist. Answer: Originally Posted by GGMTTTP ok but i don't know what dadgbe is supposed to sound like Well, EADGBe sounds like an Em7add4, so I suppose that DADGBe would sound like an Em7add4/D (heh. sorry). Thats just my thinking on the subject. Buy a chromatic tuner, make sure it is set to 440hz, and tune the low string to D. Or you can relative tune the sucker down to D by holding the low E string at the 7th fret and tuning it down until it sounds like the 5th (A) string.(which has already been sudgested).
