So I've been starting to play some jazz

Question:
I've started out playing some jazz and I need to know a site where I can find the shapes for some simple and complex jazz chord shapes. Basically I've only been doing jazzy leads and stuff by Pat Metheny and I'd like to be able to play some of the more jazzy chords.
Answer:
Try FBL SE for learning to form most any chord. There are lots of online chord dictionaries as well, though learning the theory behind forming chords is much more helpful.
I wrote a bunch on big band jazz playing here:

If you have specific questions, then ask.
It also helps to know exactly what style of jazz you're playing. Metheny and jazz fusion are a lot different than bebop, which is a lot different than big band, which is a lot different from latin jazz.
Answer:
Ditto on the FBL.
Its an amazing resource for learning how to build chords from the ground up with little in the way of memorizing long lists of forms.
Answer:
Jazz is generally very theory intensive, and FBL helps translate theory into guitar notes Very effective resource.
Answer:
Not to highjack Mr. A's thread, but since we are on the topic of Jazz...
What would be some simple Jazz peices to learn for beginning jazz playing?
Answer:
Hmm... good question.
Well, I guess start playing lead sheets from fake books and such...

A great free resource: Here
It's pretty much a lot of what is in Vol. 1 of the play alongs.
Some easy tunes:
Autumn Leaves, Summertime, So What, Footprints, Maiden Voyage, etc.
Answer:
I would think that So What would be pretty difficult for a beginner. 16 bars of soloing over a D chord and so on and so forth might be a bit much for someone just starting.
Answer:
Well, that sort of jazz is really as difficult as you want to make it, so...
Answer:
True. Just from experience I tend to get lost in modal jazz pieces, heh.
Answer:
Ok, I checked out a few online chord dictionaries, and I've been learning the shapes. What are some other good jazz songs that have a Pat Metheny sound to them? I'm open to trying anything.
Answer:
The genre you're gonna be looking at, then, is jazz fusion. Metheny is one of many more modern fusion artists. I personally reccomend looking at more classic stuff from Weather Report (especially with Jaco Pastorius), Chick Corea, later Miles Davis, and Chuck Mangione. Mangione tends to be the least intense, with a very latin jazz flavor. Weather Report was very funk jazz oriented.
More contemporary artists include John Scofield, Oregon (group), Eric Johnson, Al DiMeola, or Bela Fleck.
Answer:

Ok, I'll check out all those artists and try out a few of their songs.
