A Christian Blues song of mine
Question: Here is a hurried recording of my latest song, with a friend on bass and a second guitar. It's called "If I's You, I'd-a Left Me There." Go easy! Remember I'm an old geezer. Blessed, and in His grip, Dan http://odeo.com/audio/2094279/view Answer: Let's try the Recording forum. You might get more helpful feedback there. Thread moved. Answer: Actually, since I'm guessing you're not asking about the recording technicalities of the piece, but rather the song itself, let's try the songwriting forum. Answer: "If I's You, I'd-a Left Me There" (J. Dan Brown 3/18/06) A) Bent and broken down life’s hi-way……….then I heard you call my name. I’d been down some cruel by-ways………… thinking I had lost the game! You done had Yo' eyes right upon me………..... I’s never hidden in my shame. B) Wrecked by guilt, sin and temptation……......just like a pris’ner of my lies. Struggl’n on-my-own to do better….....but, my success would win no prize. But You reached right down and shook me,.........Yo' light, right in my eyes. Break) Why did You care?………………................If I's You, I’d-a left me there. And now I'm warm and safe............un-burdened from a world of care. I was plagued by endless questions…then, endless answers came from air. C) I'm trusting You and then Your Spirit……and with Yo' help I’m movin’ on. Please up my feeble understanding…....these Words, alive, can’t be wrong. With Yo' lovin’ grip upon me……......don’t spare the hurt, gettin’ me done. D) And teach me to trust You, Jesus……….. ....I know I got You by my side. I’m feeling your warmth upon me…….....yet still, I have some bumpy ride. Then, I look at things so different………………ever since that day I died. Repeat Break) Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
