new songs in church...

Question:
hey, i'm the pastor's son of an english speaking church in la paz mexico. good to meetcha.
basically, i'm the most frequent guitarist, and i was wondering if anybody knew of some easy, upbeat, contemporary (or however you spell that) songs we could try playing some sunday. it really seems to me that we only have MAYBE half a dozen upbeat fun songs that we cycle through. i'm kinda getting sick of some of them :P
so, if anyone has any suggestions...
P.s. oh yeah, i suppose having some leadsheets or tab or something like that would be necessary. and it would be nice to have th original sound track. i might be able to get it off limewire though, the important thing is if you know of any fun songs.
Answer:
I can only think of one good, lesser known, song right now. When I come up with some more I'll add them.
Charlie Hall-Marvelous light

Answer:

Well my favoriate 'simple songs' are ones you may have heard of.

"Every Move I Make"
"Meet with You"
"All Who Are Thirsty"
all of which are easily accessible on this site. Look in the tab search.
Answer:

Days of Elijah is one of my favourite 'upbeat' songs.
Answer:
thanks guys, we do "open the eyes of my heart" and "every move i make" often enough, although i think we could use more of the later.

There have been a number of good suggestions. I actually wanted to address something else from your post.
I totally understand about getting sick of songs, especially when you are one of the main players in a worship team. New songs are a good thing and expanding what you can play is great. HOWEVER, IN my years of serving and now leading worship I've learned some lessons from other leaders, from leadership above me and from my congregation. By the time the team is tired of a song, the congregation is finally really learning it and being able to start to worship with it. Remember, they haven't been listening to it and practicing it all the time for a couple months. IT takes time for them to learn the new songs; keep in mind most are not musicians and take longer to pick up new lyrics and tunes.
New songs are great, just remember that you are there to serve your congregation and to facilitate the musical part of the worship service.
Answer:
i perfectly understand passinthru, and it wasn't exactly that we were getting sick of the songs, just that we don't have enough upbeat songs in our arsenal. it's like a 10 to 1 ratio. so i was longing for some fun stuff to do to wake people up in the morning
and i REALLY like days of elijah, great suggestion
Answer:
yeah it's probsbly called meet with me. Righto.
