Which one of you will be leading the main melody of the song? The key is too high for both of us. My wife does the main singing and I play guitar and try shepherding the other musicians, kinda like herding cats, and I sing lead on some songs and backup on others. Neither of us could sing this one. Zionsharp Answer: Then I would suggest transposing into hte key of E then Answer: maybe one of the cats can sing it!!! don't mind me!!! bobby Answer: Probably the B7 through you off because it is a dissonence chord, and it doesn't fit in the G scale naturally. I agree E would be the way to go not too high for her not too low for you. Answer: This website does a great job transposing keys: http://www.autotransposer.com/d/index.html Answer: Just for the record, this tune is in a minor key. That's probably what threw you off. The key you posted first is E harmonic minor. To those suggesting E, it really would be C# harmonic minor. And yes, the transposition down a m3 down would probably work. Smarty pants Under the k.i.s.s. principal if you were to have the sheet music infront of you it would show 1 sharp which would make it the Key of G or Em. yes I would play the E harmonic minor scale over top of it for a solo and I would play the G major and the E blues box(pentatonic). I do apologize if I led you wrong but In my book simple is best. Answer: k.i.s.s = keep it simple silly/stupid? Answer: K.I.S.S. = Kats Is Splendid Singers don't mind me!!! bobby Answer: Originally Posted by Jumpinjoegraham Smarty pants Under the k.i.s.s. principal if you were to have the sheet music infront of you it would show 1 sharp which would make it the Key of G or Em. yes I would play the E harmonic minor scale over top of it for a solo and I would play the G major and the E blues box(pentatonic).
