worship songs (help!)

Question:
I've been asked to lead worship for a small campus crusade summer meeting. I have never lead worship before, so I have no idea what to play! It will just be me and my guitar and about 10-15 people, and i need 3 or 4 (well-known) songs.
If anybody has any suggestions, I would appreciate it. Thanks!
Ryan
Answer:
"Holy Is the Lord" - Chris Tomlin
"Blessed Be Your Name" - Matt Redman
"Here I Am To Worship" - Tim Hughes
"How Great Is Our God" - Chris Tomlin
Those are just some basic songs that are fairly big right now that I'm pretty sure most people will know.
Answer:
Have you ever listened to worship songs or been a part of a congregation during a worship service?
What songs did they do? What songs resonate in your memory?
I mean, there's always the "classic rock" equivalant of worship songs; i.e., Lord I Lift Your Name on High, Take My Heart (Holiness), Open the Eyes of My Heart, Hungry, Trading My Sorrows, God of Wonders, I Could Sing of Your Love Forever, Shout to the Lord, etc...those are like the Freebird and Stairway to Heaven of the P&W era.
What's your skill level? Are you stuck to doing contemporary stuff or are hymns cool, too?
Answer:
I'm confident in my guitar skills, less so in my singing skills, so i was hoping to stick to songs that most people know. I've been told to stick with more contemporary songs also. thanks to those who've posted suggestions, I think they will help a lot! I have spent plenty of time singing all of these songs, it's just that when it comes to playing them, i can never recall which ones i like.

Gotcha.
Best to keep it simple and memorable then.
I'm a guitarist first and a singer second so what I always do is know my guitar part without having to think about it...commit it to memory...then focus on vocals and be as familiar with them as possible.
Answer:
The above song suggestions are all good.
Stick with the songs you know and are comfortable with. Try singing them aloud and make sure they're in the sweet spot of your vocal range so you can sing confidently.
Here's a tip: If you're leading worship without a mike, make sure you sing the first line of the song nice and loud. Hopefully, the other folks will join in at that point -- getting others into the song early on will take the pressure off you.
Answer:
i always like to use the songs:
-Every Move I Make
-Trading My Sorrows
-Light Of The World
-Unashamed Love
it helps to provide song sheets for people to see the words.
remember that it isn't a show that you are putting on, but a guide to help others come into the presences of God. God bless, and Peace Out!
ps have fun and good luck
