power chord help
Question: how do you play power chords are they the same as normal chords, for example the song by switchfoot called bomb there are these power chords: A D# D C F G# G B, and i am wondering if it is the same as normal chords, i really need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Answer: Power chords (or 5 chords) are chords without the third, only the root and fifth are played. For example: for an A power chord (A5), you would play the notes A and E. For D# you would play D# and A#, etc. One way to play power chords is to make a normal E-shape barre chord, but only play the lowest three notes. So the A power chord would be 577XXX.
