Arpeggios

Question:
I have no clue what it means when it talks about it in FBL SE... I'm totally lost. How are you supposed to do it? Sorry that this is yet another thread on it. I didn't want to hijack anyone else's and such... But I'm majorly confused on what arpeggios are, and how they're supposed to be executed.
Answer:
An arpeggio is the notes of a chord played individually (generally in sequential order up the chord for a few octaves and then back down [that is, for C major, C-E-G-C-E-G-C, and back down C-G-E-C-G-E-C]) rather than all together at once.
Answer:
But how do you actually do them? I can't figure it out... And is it even possible on an acoustic?
Answer:
Well, the simplest way is to fret the chord and then play each string up and down. w00t.
If you want to make it more accurate, you'd probably play root-third on one string, then fifth-root on the next, then root-third on the next, fifth-root on the next, and so on. I'm not really good enough on fretted instruments to tell you the exact technique.
Answer:
The easiest way, like Nate said, is to just fret the chord and then pick each string individually instead of strumming. As you get better at this, you can then take the notes of the chords and find them at different spots on the neck and make solos out of those notes. And yes, it is possible on an acoustic.
Answer:
In tab form an ascending G major arpeggio 2nd position would be:
-------------------------3
----------------------3---
-------------------4------
---------------5----------
------2----5--------------
--3-----------------------
All but the 2nd fret A string (B note) are the notes you'd play in a G major barre chord.
Answer:
One popular arrpegio I do is
For the D major chord
----------------------------
--------------3---5--3------
------------2----------2----
----------4--------------4--
--------5-(root)-----------5-
----------------------------
Fingering
-------4-3-1-2--4--2-1-3-4-
Picking
-------d-d-d-d--h--P-u-u-u-
H=hammer on
P=Pull off
Try this with different roots all the way up the fretboard 3 times a day and then do GtrDave's pattern all the way up the fretboard 3 times a day atleast and you'll be fine.
