Question:
I play guitar for a 6300+ member Mega-Church in Birmingham Alabama called Cathedral Of The Cross. Two weeks ago we planed our 4th Church in 2 years and the pastor announced it was a new day new direction and we were steping it up another level.
Behind the scenes Mark our Pastor met with several of us involved in P/W and let us know we had freedom to "flow" and encouraged us to get off the leash and "go for it". Well--- this Sunday we had around 3500 in the santuary for the morning service, the crowd noise at times was unreal, prophetic messages both morning and night services, over a hundred folks there an hour before service for intersession and the altars after both were filled for an hour after service ! I wonder what happens in an area when the Spirit of the Lord falls heavy on a 6300 member Church and fills the house with His POWER and GLORY?? All I know is this is AWESOME !!! PS if ya think we have a killer sounding system in the recording last week we found out all 6 of our 18 inch subs are BLOWN. We have 6 new EAW 1/18 drivers on tha way ( three on each side of the stage ) !! Can ya say EARTHQUAKE !!!

The crossovers are set so low on the mains it took a while for the new sound guy to figure out what was up and they were blown . When the sub drivers get here it will be time to go through the entire system and do some SERIOUS tweeking. Too many uneducated untrained hands on the board with the sound team over the years is the culpret.

This has been in the past a very "organized'' conservative solid word teaching church. That has set a solid foundation in place for the outpouring we are now seeing. It's not about a killer system but about a heart for WORSHIP and the power of the SPIRIT overtaking this body.
Yes we have a LARGE church a lot of people and as a result a LOT of money and a killer system. Most Cities have convention centers with the same type systems and size auditoriums (around 8000 seats ) that is NOT the point.
The point of this thread is about a sudden change of direction in this body and a move of GOD. It's about the outpouring of POWER and FREEDOM in the spirit . For myself I am STOKED at what I see the LORD doing in my Church and wanted to share. Many have prayed for YEARS for this and yearned for the power of true WORSHIP in this house. Bottom line the Lord heard our prayers found us faithfull and over the last couple of years HE instituted the changes, brought in the right folks, set things in order and loosed the chains. For myself I'm just thankfull to be a part of this.

Sunday night we had a period of over 20 minuits of SILENCE at one point during worship where the altars and whole front of the Church was full of folks on their faces before the Lord. His presence was so strong in the house you could hardly stand and it was so quiet at times you could hear a pin drop at other times light sobbs and tears. While there are periods of high praise and the penticostal "Christian Aerobic sessions" at COC to be shure it is becoming less about that and more about the WORSHIP. Lord we seek YOUR FACE and not Your Hand . HABITATION not just a temporary visitation To be KNOWN by HIM and to KNOW HIM.
We have had tha jumpin shouting praise down for a while but it is the new depth of WORSHIP we are seeing that is firing me up !!
Remember it is PRAISE AND WORSHIP. They are different MUCH different things!! Many regularly enter into Praise but relatively few will truly enter into intimate WORSHIP.

I'm a little curious though, in previous threads you've mentioned that you have to turn everything up really loud because of the audience, but the audience in the recordings seems pretty normal, not anywhere near the house volume. I do consistently hear someone back by the recording source talking alot though.

I think he's trying to ask what kind of breakthroughs we are having in our churches. I don't think any of us have arrived so we probably are all experiencing growth at some level.
I feel some break through comming for us up here in Windsor, On Canada.
Building

We've seen more famillies reunited in the past year than everbefore. We have most of our extended familly comming to church now.
Most people involved in the various church ministries, about 80% are active in church ministry at some sort of level.

new musicians, good new music, That is the thing man !! We fought for YEARS here in the Spirit to see this. Had we gotten discouraged and given up on seeing a true Move Of God and settled for the "status Quo" Church service this would have never happened. Be encouraged DON`T GIVE UP and DON'T SETTLE for LESS THAN what the Lord has put in your heart is the message I want to convey!!
PS I know we have NOT arrived and this if it contiues on this Spiritual level will require a high PRICE from us!! With increased Presence and Anointing comes increased responsability. Fasting, Prayer, Study along with Self Examinating and Repentance all are part of the process!! This means no more taking it for granted and no more getting away with the same old compromises in our personal lives ect. And YES that INCLUDES myself !

Sounds good, bro. It's awesome to be able to worship with such freedom and really soak in God's presence and be witness to the life-changing work of His Spirit.
We're heading for a break-through up here as well as we'll be in our new building in just a matter of weeks and God is bringing in people to help facilitate a time of growth of His church.
The outpouring has begun.
