gunshot (RC)

Question:
is there a gunshot if you're not there to hear it?
will the bird cry from the telephone wire?
the raindrops and streetlights are witness to a murder
tonight you're the match that survived the fire
is there a gunshot if you're not alive to hear it?
did you hear my last words aimed at you?
I was valid but lacked sincerity
my eulogy will be sound but miss a point of truth
cut his wings
he can't talk if he can't escape
hide my body
no one knows, trust me, it's better this way
I want you for mine
I know where you sleep, I'll break the window
I won't bleed
your blood is all my hands will know
you put me through hell
now I'll show you what comes next
if you survive, you'll never go outside
you'll be afraid of light
This song doesn't really have any assigned parts as far chorus/verse/bridge. The first couple parts get repeated a couple times...it's hard to describe.
but yeah, go ahead and critique.
Answer:
i dont know what kinda music you listen or are into, but i imagine it as being a death metal type song, like "Darkest Nights" (As I Lay Dying). It's got that really dark feel in the lyrics. I think its cool.
the only thing i see with it is in the first part and second part, the thrid lines of each one dont have the same rhythm. maybe its just me and i cant count, but take a look at it again.
sounds cool tho. does it have music yet?
Answer:
The music is actually somewhat of an experiment I'm working on. It starts out Death Cab-ish then builds up to a screamo breakdown part. It's kinda indiecore I guess haha.
I'm aware of those lines. In the second part, they kinda stretch out. It goes along with how I build up for the next part, which is the hardcoreish part. It looks awkward on paper but works with the music. The music for the first part is different from the second also.

i think it could be really cool man. do you have the ability to record a snip of it and post it on here? im interested in hearing the music to go along with it
Answer:
Not here at school. I took a bunch of my equipment home over spring break so I can get it all home at the end of the semester so I don't have a big chunk of my music stuff. If I get a chance to record here at school I might be able to get it done, but my band is back in PA and I'm in IL so I'd have to find other people and that would be too much hassle.

Overall, I think it's a good song. Nothing amazing, but depending on the music, it could work really well.
Good job.

totally understandable. at my h.s. we have good equip. but no where do we have any way of recording, unless you got the techies and the band director to work together but that could possilby be WWIII!!!
i agree. genres really bite. especially cuz i never know what to classify my music under!
anyway, its cool that youre trying new "genres" for lack of a better term. pretty tight.

Well there's really nice studios here at school but my band isn't here so it does no good.
I just don't worry about what genre my music is. I play music, not rock, not indie, not pop...just music.
