Need help getting the funk out

Question:
I'm currently trying to learn the solo to Extreme's "Get the Funk Out", and I'm having trouble with the tapping section. I have the songbook, but I'm not sure that the fingerings presented are correct, they seem to move to different positions on the fretboard when it might not be neccesary, so I was wondering if anyone out there has learned the solo and could help me out with it a bit.
Answer:
Well, if anyone is interested, the official Cherry Lane songbook is incorrect for the tapping section, they have half the pattern played on the same string, and actually don't follow a repeatable pattern in the positions the tab out. This tab is correct:

Answer:
I read the thread title and thought "You get the funk out by playing it "straight.""
But I don't know the song you're talking about and I really haven't explored tapping very much, so alas, no help here...
Answer:
hahaha, it's ok.
It's ok, I think I have it now, the tab I found online seems to be correct. I'm just disapointed that I paid $20 for a song book... just for this solo I might add... and it's tabbed incorrectly. That really stinks.
Answer:
Yeah, It seems like there's always little mistakes like that in tab books. I was going crazy with some of the mistakes in the Dream Theater Scenes from a Memory, and Falling into Infinity books when I first picked them up! What was worse was that I couldn't wait for the scenes from a memory book to come out so I got a friend to send me a Japanese version! I learned a lot of songs one way, only to find that I had learned them wrong and had to re-learn them the right way!
Answer:
That's pretty frustrating. I usually don't even buy tab books, this one was a special occasion because I *really* wanted to learn that solo. If mistakes like this are common, then I think this will be the last I buy. Esspecially since I found a more accurate tab for free on the net!
I gave up trying to learn DT songs a while ago. I learned Dance of Eternity up until the ragtime part, and I thought my brain was going to implode on itself. It's some really demanding stuff.

Yeah, I only buy them for really complicated stuff that I don't have time to transcribe by ear like DT or Vai (If you want something REALLY challenging pick up the guitar book for passion and warfare! )
DT stuff is really demanding from a technical standpoint. I remember trying to learn Dance of Eternity to perform at a guitar presentation I was asked to give for a university music class... crazy! The part with the pulloff's to sweeps before the ragtime are killers! ...I actually had an easier time with the sections after the ragtime part!

Yeah, those little arpeggios are what wrecked me. Really, it's just the first two, because they require me to stretch my hand just a bit further than it naturally wants to go. I learned up until the ragtime part and said "Forget it!". That was song was going to give me carpel tunnel if I kept it up too long
