Help namin these chords
Question: ok so in part of this song im workin on i have these two chords, i dont know exactly what their names would be, one is a Em7 with a Capo at the 6th fret, i know how to name these types of chords but with the m7 im not sure if it would change. Breaking it down, its using the E form on thw 6th Fret which is an A#. but it is not a Major E form, it is a Em7, would it be an A#m7? Ill post the other chord when i get some replys. Tell me if you dont understand what i said Answer: The "m7" does not change, so yes, you've got yourself an A#m7. Answer: Well, that depends on which key you are playing in. It could be a Bbm7 Answer: true, well its not that important at the moment anyway. Just wanted to know if that was right cause if it was then the whole system i thought up was. Answer: The other chord looks lke this 0------|------|------| X------|------|---2--| 0------|------|------| X------|---1--|------| 0------|------|------| X------|------|------| The 0's are for open in case you didnt get my tabbing. so its like an A. BUT it is moved up with a capo at the sixth. wadda ya think? Answer: I looked it up on chordfind.com, i got an A7sus4 which makes a D#7sus4. aha! Answer: final one! 0------|---2--|------| X------|------|---3--| 0------|------|------| X------|---1--|------| 0------|------|------| X------|------|------| thanks.. Answer: Your chords would be a lot easier to read if you typed them like this: x02032. In that chord, you're taking the A7sus4 and adding an F# which makes it an A7sus4add6. You could also call it Em9/A. Answer: ahhh, theres always an easier way, but it doesnt get noticed til after ive done it the hard way. thanks again Answer: Originally Posted by bobthecockroach A7sus4add6. It's got the seventh, eleventh, and thirteenth, so why not call it that? Answer: and with the capo at the 6th FRET? (how many times have i said that) Answer: Just transpose it up 3 whole steps like you did with the other ones. D#13 or A#m9/D#. Answer: thought as much, now, For the final time... what would... ha just kidding Answer: Originally Posted by mmmthasgood1 and with the capo at the 6th FRET?
