What does the phrase "worship in spirit and truth" actually mean?

Question:
John 4:23-24 (NASB)
But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
Discuss.
Answer:
Here's what I've always thought. Correct me if you think I'm wrong.
Before Jesus you had to go to the temple to worship God and even then only the high priest was allowed go to the holiest of places in the temple, divided by a curtian wall. During the moment Jesus died on the cross the curtain wall split and removing all barriers from the average jew and holiest place in the temple. We have thus become the temple, our bodies and residing inside is the Holy Spirit. Thus worshiping in spirit.
The in truth part I'll leave to someone else since I'm sketchy about this myself.

Jesus answered, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes before the father except through me."
