Volunteering your worship team?

Question:
Hey all,

Thought I would let you all know of something our worship team members are doing this weekend.

I was trying to find a way for our worship teams to expand our vision of what we do and what our role is. Something outside of regular Sunday morning worship times.

I am not sure how I came upon the idea, whether I read it somewhere or what, but the idea was for a church to "tithe" (in a matter of speaking) of it's worship people.
We searched out a small church plant (our same denomonation) in a small city about 2 hours away and contacted them to offer to come lead worship occaisionally and pass on any knowledge or ideas we use when leading worship. Basically, anything we have, we offer it if it would be of some use to them.
So this Sunday we will be taking a team of 7 (plus some family and kids) to this small church for the second time. I have been encouraged by the response I had from our people. Not everyone has been able to help out, but those that did were gung ho for it.

We are even starting to dream about possibly doing a short term mission trip somewhere down the road.

Anyway, I thought I would let you all in on what we are up to and see what you thought of it.

Awesome! Keep us posted.
Our church meets on Sat evenings in borrowed space so our musicians are frequently on loan on Sunday mornings, sometimes as ''loaners'' fill in worship leaders, or whole replacement team ''guest appearances''. What great team builders these have been for our musicians.
And we are friends with many other churches...

Answer:
We had the younger sister of our former pastor come and train us up over a period of years which gave us a real step up. she is a high school music teacer and has toured with Robin Mark and played on his albums.
We've "paid it forward" by going out to lead worship at other churches too.
Don't ever under estimate the value of what you are doing.
WELL DONE and KEEP IT UP!!!!!!!
Answer:
thats pretty enteresting.
right now the worship team in the youth is only me and the bass player, when we play on wednesdays its me, him and the youth pastor. we're looking for a worship leader at the moment, and we're just waiting to see what God's gonna do.
Answer:
That's awesome Jubal (nice name by the way.. )
Definitely keep it up. I pray God gives you an even greater vision.
Right now our worship team is doing a service at a boys home/program here, and we're doing some youth conferences....
I would totally love to do more, and it's awesome to see that you are.
