Question:
I have a great drummer in my church. He keeps time. Great placement. Tasteful. Powerful. Great worshipper and family man.
But he loves electric drums. He refuses acoustics.
And he's even good on acoustics.
Yes, you have entered the twilight zone, a good drummer who favors electric over acoustic.

Answer:
I truly believe that most drummers would at least accept electric drums if they could use their regular cymbals. Especially if they experience the Roland V-Drums.
Answer:
ewww yuck... i would be incredibly miserable if my drummer wanted to use an electric set

Yes, we do have a high-end set of V's.
Answer:
There are some good drummers who prefer electrics. I would personaly like to own an electric kit one day, but never play only electric.
Answer:
my drummer prefers electric simply because of the contraints we have with the building we are currently in...
his feeling is in a perfect environment "good cage, perfectly mixed and mic'd" he enjoys accoustic, but if you can't have that it just sounds better to have electric.
He too wants the high-end Roland V-Drums...
Answer:
Both of our drummers prefer our VDrums over the old Pearl Kit that was in there. They can play faster, with less fatigue. They get better tones in the room we are in and they are maintenance free.
As band leader and guitarist, I love them too.
Answer:
I like V-drums (I think most drummers do, to some extent), I am not to keen on the cymbals, they just don't have that same feel.

True, our drummers actually prefer the hard rubber pads (like the cheaper toms) to the vcymbals. Crazy.
Answer:
The drummers at my church both hate our electric set at my church. We use it on sunday mornings. But now when my band (the youth band) practices we use the acoustic set.

The two are mutually exclusive.

Answer:
Our drummer loves electric drums as well. He has a set at home and bought a set himself for the church - a nice gift Oh, he is an amazing drummer too

our church has a set of electtric drums. they're really nice. and they sound great too. the only thing is they never sound like acoustic ones (i know that they will never sound like the real thing).
Answer:
I know a very good drummer (professional) who doesn't mind playing V-drums. He does use his own "V-cymbals," though, that he's rigged with plastic/rubber practice cybals, sections of computer mouse-pad, and hospital diagnostic sensors. They sound great!
