Ace Leber 1985-2005 A.D. (RC)

Question:
I did not write this song for myself or to appear "EMO." I wrote this cause Ace went missing on Monday night and died by the two things he loved the most. Swimming and Flying.
Progression: Dmaj9/ Amaj7/ Cadd9/ Gadd2
V1.
I believe the news, you're gone for good.
You know i would've saved you if i could.
But you were always saving me
Now who will be my hero since you're gone.

C:
Nineteen years old, olympic swimmer,
You always told me to remember your face.
Your thoughts were high, you rode the sky,
and you touched me, you touched my life.
from a plane to Midnight water, Lake michigan. No doubt,
we will always love you my friend,
we will always love you my friend Ace.

V2.
We always wondered what you'd become.
You always captivated everyone.
You landed in our lives, You flew in our thoughts,
You showed us love, but now you're gone.

Br.
Planes dont belong in the water, they need the sky.
Five miles to shore, it was sink or die.
Crying out to God, it's time to swim,
Lord, you brought him home, please help him home again.

Outro:
We loved you my friend, We love you my friend Ace,
we loved you my friend, we love you my friend Ace.
"Death, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY????"
Answer:
V1.

But you were always saving me
Now who will be my hero since you're gone.

Okay--not your best. But still good. Unfortunately, the whole concept isn't all that original a way to look at it, or to word that angle on things. And btw- the last line most definitely is in need of a question mark.
C:

You always told me to remember your face.

we will always love you my friend Ace.

I like this part. It tells us a lot more about who Ace was, and what he did, and how you felt about him. It's not that terribly original either, but death is a pretty cliched subject, seeing as it happens to everyone.
We always wondered what you'd become.
You always captivated everyone.
You landed in our lives, You flew in our thoughts,
You showed us love, but now you're gone.

Is the first line an allusion to that he was young and had unfulfilled potential, or the fact that you had no clue what he had become. That's my only real beef with this verse.
Planes dont belong in the water, they need the sky.
Five miles to shore, it was sink or die.
Crying out to God, it's time to swim,
Lord, you brought him home, please help him home again.

I like this part, it has that spark of originality. I like it about the best thus far.
We loved you my friend, We love you my friend Ace,
we loved you my friend, we love you my friend Ace.
Solid. Not great, but still okay.
"Death, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY????" Scream? What is this part?
It's probably better than it looks, but songs about people you love dying tend to approach the same style so often, but really, there's nothing you can change very much about it. Still, my condolences and prayers to you and everyone that knew him.
