Mosh pit for worship?
Question: not really, but we were playing "I'm Trading my Sorrows" and I got everyone jumping around ont the "Yes Lord, Yes Lord, Yes Yes Lord" it was fun... Answer: My first thought when I saw this was "What worship songs can you mosh to?" I can't really imagine a circle pit popping up during Blessed Be Your Name or Every Move I Make. -Kenny Answer: >_< Praise stuff is kinda easy, if you make it heavy enough and stuff (Only gripe about having a girl who leads youth group - that and the fact that people still care too much about what everyone else around them thinks) But I mean, just jumpin up and down is cool. Dancing is a way of praising God, and even David did it - and he was Bad@$$ (I'm gonna regret saying this, but I just have to) I mean he killed people, and he still danced, so why shouldnt we? We gonna care about what people think? Mods, sorry if I wasn't supposed to say that, but thats the only thing I could think of to fit in there. I mean last time there was a youth service (focus in main church on teens, youth group band was up playing) we did Sanctus Real's "Everything About You" - God hit with all of His awesomeness...gotta love it. Answer: I was weirded out by your title too. Minger, maybe bad to the bone would be a nice way of putting it. Answer: I actually just got home from a youth group-type thing I play bass at called Klife. Tonight we had sort of a punk rock thing going for most of the songs, and I saw some people in a quasi-mosh pit. It was pretty cool. I don't remember what song it was for, though. Haha, I have no problem with it... I wouldn't have even censored it :P. Answer: Originally Posted by Minger But I mean, just jumpin up and down is cool. Why shouldn't we dance or why shouldn't we kill people? In His love, Nate Answer: I'm saying its good to praise God by dancing. Killing people on the other hand, well ya kno Answer: Yeah, the killing thing is looked down on by most denominations. Maybe there are some charismatic churches out there... ok, never mind. Answer: i was at a youth convention on the weekend, and people were accually moshing....i mean jumping and fist pumping to the worship songs....i think it's retarded....i like their enthusiasm and passion for God, but mosh for worship??....no... Answer: In my experiene in Worship-Moshes... The general focus is not on God. Answer: it about having fun....is that what your saying?...i wouldn't argue against that....i also wouldn't argue for it... Answer: Not sure what this has to do with bass...moving to Christian music. They can deal with it. Answer: Originally Posted by Minger I'm saying its good to praise God by dancing. Killing people on the other hand, well ya kno Do we know? There are examples in the Bible of people killing and it being a righteous thing, because God ordered it. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
