Leading Children In Worship

Question:
Could yall help me with leading children!?
Tips on leading in general
And in songs!!
Answer:
I don't know the name of the song but there is one that our children's ministry does that the kids love. The song is called "jump in the river". The kids love it because part of the lyrics are "Let the rain fall.Let the wind blow. Let the fire burn. Let the river flow." and they have different hand motions for each of the "let the...." parts and then part of it is like "jump jump, jump in the river" and of course when they're doing that part they are jumping.
As far as actually leading kids, I think a big part is the really interact with them and do motions and stuff with the lyrics, etc. The last time I got to watch Children's worship they did "here I am to worship" and the leader had all the kids get in a bowing position and he got down on their level with them with the lights turned down. It was pretty neat. One piece of advise, since you prolly have adults in the audence that aren't helping lead worship, ask them to make sure that the kids aren't messing with each other and try to make sure they stay in tune with what they are supposed to be doing.
Answer:
Your Everlasting Love was a big hit, not only among the kids but when they brought it to the congregation, everyone was jumping...and our church does NOT jump.
Dive was one they did quite well recently.
Teaching kids to worship is not just leading the kids' choir, but having them pray, read scripture, recite, take up the offering, usher, all of that and more. We also incorporate drama and dance into kids' worship.

Answer:
you want to make sure that you involve not just their voices, but their bodies, their eyes, etc. kids can get distracted very easily, so you want to make sure you keep their attention.

What Do You Do if The People Who Control Them in the Back (The People Who Make Sure That They Aren't Distracted) Don't Do What THere Supposed To Do?
Answer:
What we do for our kids, when i say we i mean me and the worship leader (I'm only his little assistant) , for words, my sister is a whiz at "Power Point." I, Unfortunatly, am not so gifted in that area . But anyways, She puts the words on power point and (Through some Magical happening) it Appears up on a big screen TV. If Ya'lls Church has A projector and a screen, Heck Even a Blank Wall, Try it. Don't Ask me How I Don't Know How It Happens.

P.S. The only Draw back is that you have to do what is on the screen!

yell at em. the 'teachers' or s in the room should just watch the kids and make sure that they're not goofin off. If I see a teaching just standing there in the back or talking w/ other teacher's i'll call one of em up (hey kids i think that mrs johnson is gonna help you w/ this one) They ALL should be joining in w/ the kids in the worship. Sit with them, do the goofy hand motions. Especially w/ some of the older ones who begin to outgrow it...if the worship leader is askin everyone to do whatever (waive your hands) and the kids look back and all the s are just sittin there...they arnt gonna do it.
I've been doing worship with the kids for a few years now and it helps having a baseball bat or a frying pan so you can hit yourself over the head w/ it when nothing is working. I've found childrens worship the wierdest of em all. One week they're loving it and jumpin up and down and want more and more. So the next week you do the SAME exact thing...and the kids just sit there while you're on stage while you look like a squirral that just got run over and just waitin for someone to come and put your outta your misary.
On that happy note. I love em. How many kids are you dealing w/? 10? 30? 50? more? The more kids you have the harder it is cause you need to keep everyone's attention. at each service we have about 30 kids (k - 5th). We have usually always done music from a CD (Vineyard has some good kids stuff) but lately i've been brining in my guitar and the kids like that. My top songs have been 'trading my sorrow', 'great big god', every move i make, open the eyes of my heart. If you want hand motions to any of em email me...i'll be happy to pass along anything.
Answer:
I find, that kids can worship in many cases just as much as the adults can. I find its best not to patronise them,
make songs simple, do actions and stuff but still treat them like they can worship God!
I find good adult songs are good kids songs. Things like "One Way" (Hillsong) and Here I am to Worship work really well!
Answer:
actualli children like songs that get them excited bout god, something they can clap to

And in songs!! Make sure at least one or two (ideally all) songs have hand motions or dance motions, etc. Kids love that stuff.
