WorshipTogether.com/New Song Cafe??
Question: Ok I got a few question about this site. So if your familiar with it help me understand some things about it. What is the purpose of WorshipTogether.com? And as for New Song Cafe, I can only seem to find one video to watch, which is the current one. It's, Mighty Is The Power, episode #101. Where are all the others they've done in the past? Thanks. I haven't been there for awhile, but they have a lot of things that are free for short periods of time, and then later you have to pay to get them. They'll have free music every week, grab it while you can, it'll cost money later. Answer: Originally Posted by georgeo Financial gain. Helping equip worship leaders around the country/world. 'Worshiptogether.com' is more than just a website. Its associated with a number of other things. Its a website, publisher, record label, store....They provide resources so that you can run a legit, legal musical worship service. And as for New Song Cafe, I can only seem to find one video to watch, which is the current one. It's, Mighty Is The Power, episode #101. Where are all the others they've done in the past? They only promote one every two weeks. However, the others are still availible on the net...you just have to be a bit creative. The other NewSongCafe thread does that for you. Well, I didn't see anything on their site that labels them as "not for profit" and they do have a store that sells things, so I would deduce that part of their purpose is for financial gain... There is a very obvious difference between selling things as a ministry and existing to make money. This is pure speculation, but I'd bet the people who run the site do it as a full time job and if so, then yes, they would depend upon it for financial gain, just like the rest of us. *EDIT* Just because it's for financial gain doesn't make it bad. If my purpose in life is to make money...that is a bad thing. If a ministries purpose is to make money...that is a bad thing. If my purpose in life is to reach people with the life-chaning reality of Jesus Christ....that is a good thing. If my ministires purpose is to reach people with the life-changing reality of Jesus Christ....that is a good thing. If I make as a means to the end of reaching people with the life-changing reality of Jesus Christ....that is not a bad thing If my ministry does something that makes money as a means to the end of reaching people with the life-changing reality of Jesus Christ...that is not a bad thing. If make money is the end though....that is a bad thing. Someone asked what the purpose of worshiptogether.com is. Saying they exist for "financial gain" implies that that is an end itself. It doesn't carry the implication that it is a means to an end. Therefore I fail to see how that sort of comment is appropriate. Let's not be so naive as to think that they are not profiting from it. Notice that I also said, "Helping equip worship leaders around the country/world." Perhaps I should have put those comments in the opposite order. The website, I am sure is their main publicity for their products with which they make their profits. I don't believe it is slanderous to say that they are seeking financial gain. Perhaps you are pulling a connotation out of my statement that I did not intend. Their purpose is to make money.......and equip people. Or their purpose is to equip people to serve.....and make money. Its the priority thats the problem therefore the order matters Answer: Originally Posted by Sean I think the order there makes a huge difference. The order gives the connotation. Answer: Any business' first priority should be profit maximization, that's how the free market works most efficiently. My opinion, anyway.
