Song Selections - week ending 02.06.05
Question: This Sunday is the day we start our fourth service, called Parkway Traditions (it's actually our first service, starting at 8:00 a.m.) - so I will be posting two different worship lists from now on. I never had the theoretical knowledge to play a decent solo on it before, but now I do, so. Yay. I could never play half the solo that my first guitar teacher would have though. Amazing stuff. Also looking forward to Be Thou My Vision. Fun arrangement by the master himself. Answer: This is for chapel tommorow at school. Lord I Lift Your Name On High Open the Eyes of My Heart Lord Every Move I Make Breathe (Special Music) Blessed Be Your Name I'm looking forward to performing Blessed Be Your Name tommorow, solo with an acoustic. I really want to introduce it as a praise song, but I'll probably wait to see what kind of reaction it gets as special music. -Kenny Answer: Sunday morning: That's What We Came Here For - A One Day - A ~offering~ (play one day while taking up offering) Sing (lakewood) - F - F# Where Would I Be (without Your love) - D (i'm excited about One Day...this will be our first time playing it for the congregation) Answer: Morning: Open the eyes of my heart - E We fall down - E/F Evening Sweet Wind - D Every move I make - G Good to me - G At the Cross - E Answer: Originally Posted by parkway Parkway Traditions Haha. Te he. Anyway, here's what we'll probably be doing this week: PDL Week 2 - Worship: You Were Planned For God's Pleasure Here I Am To Worship (girls from the youth group singing and doing various things with candles, sort of interpretive movements... haha, fun stuff) - D All Creatures Of Our God And King (just a couple verses) - D God Of Wonders - D, then up to E Awaken The Dawn - E Doxology - E The choir will also be doing some stuff. One of the songs is "Unashamed Love" from Ten Shekel Shirt's Lamont Hebiert (sp?), and the other is some song called "All Creation Worships You" that, if I remember correctly, is an old old old Maranatha tune. Te he. I bet you loved playing those two songs. Awaken the Dawn from Delirious? The choir will also be doing some stuff. One of the songs is "Unashamed Love" from Ten Shekel Shirt's Lamont Hebiert (sp?) Close, I think. Those Canadians don't know how to keep their last names simple. That's a good song. Answer: Originally Posted by parkway I bet you loved playing those two songs. Awaken the Dawn from Delirious? Yep yep. Close, I think. Those Canadians don't know how to keep their last names simple. That's a good song. It is a good song. I like it a lot. I'm glad we're doing it. It's a little tricky for the congregation to sing it. Answer: just fyi: It's Lamont Heibert (how do i know...several times of typing that on copyright information!) Answer: Originally Posted by parkway Probably better as a special music than a worship song. It's a little tricky for the congregation to sing it. Yeah, but it is a great song. Our youth group learned it on a retreat, loved it, and now they sing it like they're gettin' paid, it's great! Answer: Hi there. Today was an awesome Sunday. I had the weekend off from participating on the worship team, but I was asked to fill in a bit on PowerPoint which was cool. I could worship in the balconey and sing my heart out freely. We opened with a Latino instrumental of Days of Elijah. Then prayer and welcome. Let Your Glory Fall Days of Elijah Famous One Children's choir with God is So Good in 6 different languages with sign language too. A PowerPoint explanation of our Special Missions Projects. An explanation of the meaning of Baptism, followed by video-taped testimonies from each candidate. We had six baptisms, 3 in the 9 am service and 3 in the 11 am service, during which we sang I Will Never Be the Same Again. The guest speaker, Raj Sandhu, a former Sikh, now a pastor in a nearby city, spoke on The Tears of Jesus, about Jesus weeping over Jerusalem and the things that made Him weep. Our Heart, Our Desire Here I Am, Wholly Available - The first two verses were sung as solos by two members of the worship team with the congregation on the chorus "Here I am, wholly available. As for me, I will serve the Lord" and then altogether on the third verse. An invitation to move forward to recommit ourselves to pray and evangelism, to weep about those things that make God weep. Great Awakening was scheduled but was pulled as it did not fit the mood of the moment...repentence and recommitment.
