Crowder's O Praise Him (All This For a King)
Question: Just curious... I'm planning on doing this song congregationally in a few weeks. It seems like it might be a challenge to sing, though, and it has the "la la la la la la" part. For those of you who have done this song corporately before: 1) Did you do the la las? 2) What general order (verse, bridge, chorus) did you take things in? 3) Was the song received well? Nate Answer: 1) We used to do the las. It was more of an outro than anything else. 2) I don't remember, it's been awhile, but we generally followed the order on the CD, with maybe some variations. 3) Yes. Answer: Depends on your congregation dude. Answer: Originally Posted by agrimes87 Depends on your congregation dude. I had gathered as much before I wrote the original post. However, I'm still curious as to how it's done in other places... Nate Answer: You could do the song, and just have the la la part as a time where people can just praise and cry out to God. Just sort of ad-libbing. Also, you might want to play the chorus a few more times than its plalyed in the song. If nobody knows it, you might want to do it once with just the band, then repeat it, so the congregation can hear it first and get a feel for the song. Also, with a new song, it helps to do the chorus more than you usually would. Answer: I would not project the La-la's for the congregation to sing, but I might have the worship team sing them. I never project "filler syllables." Answer: When we do it on Sundays for the congregation we leave out the monosylabic "la" part. But when we do it at youth group, we live it in. The song has been well recieved by both the youth and the adults. Answer: Verse1 Prechorus1 Chorus Verse2 Chorus (2x) (lalala) PreChorus2 Chorus (2x) (lalala) That's how we do it. A bit different from the record. I'm not fond of the la la la's, but there's really nothing wrong with doing it. I just feel silly singing "la la la". Josh. Answer: When we've done this in youth group, we do it pretty close to the way the recording is, we also do the la's but it's not a problem since the youth group knows the song well. I would guess we probably wouldn't do them on Sunday morning if we did this song. Answer: Please don't do the "lalas." I beg you. We sing them in chapel here, but not at the church I go to. I MUCH prefer the church's version of it. Answer: I try to insert la la la's in every worship song I can. In fact, I'm thinking about having an all la la la worship day These Thousand Hills Every Move I Make O Praise Him Make A Joyful Noise (there's a la la part in there) La la la La la la la Hey hey hey Goodbye (changing the nas to las of course) Answer: Originally Posted by parkway I try to insert la la la's in every worship song I can. And that "Da da da" song...with la's. I like to throw a "la la" bridge into The Church's One Foundation. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
