Song Selection - week of November 27, 2005
Question: I am not leading this week. The youth minister at my church, who was youth minister and worship minister before I came on board, is doing the service. But here is what he is doing (I don't know what keys): BETTER IS ONE DAY - Kutless version BEAUTIFUL - Sam Lane YOU ARE MY JOY - David Crowder* Band WHAT ELSE IS THERE - Johnny Scott CAPTURE - I have no idea, I think this may be an original. Answer: Alright brace yourself. I have infinity worship sets to write out (actually only three). For our Thanksgiving Eve service tomorrow night, which I am leading on the accoustic, this should be fun. -I Give Thanks-Brian Thiessen (not related to Relient K)-G -Forever-Tomlin-G -Come Let Us Worship and Bow Down-?-Eb -Once Again-Redman-Eb -Amazing Love-?-Eb -I Give You My Heart-Hillsong-G -I'm Forever Grateful-?-G Next is for Sunday morning where the youth is leading: -Everything that has Breath-Redman(?)-E -Better is One Day-?-E -Let My Words Be Few-Redman-E -Show Your Power-Prosch-G -Holy is the Lord-Tomlin-G -Salvation Belongs to Our God-Howard/Turner-G -Awesome in this Place-Billington-D And for our YWAM Missions program, I am only playing guitar for this. -Hail Jesus-G -Mighty is our God-G -Not to Us-G -Good to Me-G -Take Me In (To the holy of holies)-G -We are Hungry-G Answer: Originally Posted by Ring of a bell -I Give Thanks-Brian Thiessen (not related to Relient K)-G We're all related somewhere on the tree. And for our YWAM Missions program, YWAM is cool. I am only playing guitar for this. Sheesh? How many instruments do you usually play at one time? Answer: Originally Posted by psalm63adam We're all related somewhere on the tree. Okay fine, He's not directly related to Matt Thiessen, therefore not relating him to RK... Oh I don't even know what I was getting at when I said that. Originally Posted by Adam YWAM is cool. Yessir it is. Originally Posted by Adam Sheesh? Better? *grin* Answer: Do you usually sign autographs, Mr. Bell? We'll be doing some spirituals, since our resident black preacher is doing the sermon. Probably something like: Call To Worship: Bless That Wonderful Name (D) I've Got Peace Like A River (D) I Will Trust In The Lord (D) Welcome / Scripture / Prayer Soon Will Be Done (Bm) Some Of These Days (D) My Lord, What A Morning (D) Offertory: Give Me Jesus (D) Were You There? (D) Jesus On The Mainline (D) Sermon: 2 Chronicles 7:14, 1 John 1:9 Invitation: Lord, I Want To Be A Christian (D) Benediction: They'll Know We Are Christians By Our Love (D) This is all very tentative right now... Oh.... and.... I DO NOT ALWAYS PLAY IN D! How could you think such a thing!? In His love, Nate Answer: Originally Posted by Nate Do you usually sign autographs, Mr. Bell? I suck at life... I don't know what came over me yesterday. IT WAS THE DEVIL THAT MADE ME DO IT. Okay, back on topic... Answer: So I've been snooping this thread for a few weeks, and figured I'd finally start making some contributions. I'm my church's youth pastor/leader of the youth worship team. I'm leading our Thanksgiving eve service with our campus pastor, as the head pastor is gone. It'll be a simple night, piano and two guitars, for a bit of that hybrid traditional/contemporary feel since it's a single service. How Great Thou Art - Bb How Great is Our God (Tomlin) - A Unfailing Love (Tomlin) - G Fairest Lord Jesus - Eb Come Thou Fount - E Great is Thy Faithfulness - Eb we'll have a slideshow playing of members of the church - old & young - with some quotes of what they're thankful for. Of course we have to finish the night with cider and donut holes. And there it is. Answer: I'm adding "Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble" (in A, probably... HA!) as part of our youth group's testimony from YEC. I'm also dropping "Were You There?" since it doesn't really fit anyway with the sermon. Answer: Devotion Lord Come to me Let There be Joy [Lighting of the first Advent Candle] Presence (My Heart's Desire) All I can do Bless the Lord When the Tears Fall Face Down Answer: Thanksgiving Day: Give Thanks I Will Enter His Gates Now Thank We All Our God ...and a few more that I forget Sunday morning (Advent 1 - Hope): Hope of the Nations (A) Here I Am to Worship (E) To You O Lord, I Lift My Soul Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus O Come, O Come Immanuel In Christ Alone (D -> E) Evening: Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty (D) Let Us Love and Sing and Wonder (C) Knowing You (C) Father, We Love You (C) Of the Father's Love Begotten (Eb) O Come, O Come, Immanuel (Em) Answer: I think Nate left off one... "Song"... Answer: Originally Posted by Insane Drummer I think Nate left off one... "Song"... Ha... probably so... but I'll be darned if I can put a title to it. Answer: For Wed. 11/30 (youth service) Lord Reign in Me (A) -> He Was There (A) Let Everything That (E) -> My God Reigns (E) All Who Are Thirsty (F -> G) Answer: The Narnia series begins: "Christmas Hope - To Believe Again" Prelude: Calm/focused instrumental Christmas Music Welcome & Prayer O Come, O Come Emmanuel - V.1 and Chorus a cappelo solo Director's clip of Narnia movie soon to come out Interview: Kid's coping with beareavement programme Lighting of advent candle O Come, O Come Emmanual - Chorus twice, a cappelo solo House lights and Lamp Post up Come, Now is the Time to Worship You Have Broken the Chains Did You Feel the Mountains Tremble O Come, O Come Emmanuel Pastoral Prayer/ Offering We Are United (choir with soloist) Reading: Always Winter, Never Christmas (from Lion, Witch and Wardrobe) Sermon: "Always Winter, Never Christmas" from Ecclesiates Jesus, Saviour, Prince of Peace Next Step Go Tell It on the Mountain Dismissal Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
