The breaks always come at the right time for me. Just when I get fed up with things and little stuff bothers me, there is a break in the action and I realize how much I enjoy and how priveliged I am to be a part of the worship team. I'll be ready for next Sunday
Ok, return to topic...

yeah well, it's not like breaks from church worship team coincide with time off from work... I just get to sleep in for a couple of Sundays

Yeah, that's true. I was just kidding. And I do get to take breaks, when I want to.
Answer:
Anyways... back on topic.
We're doing the following, most likely:
"Christ's Coming" Medley - (using Sandra McCracken's version of "Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus", both verses, followed by the first verse of "Love Divine, All Loves Excelling" and then the third and fourth verses [at least, as they're given in the Baptist hymnal] of "Glorious Is Thy Name, Oh Lord" AKA "Blessed Savior, We Adore Thee", all sung to McCracken's tune... all in G, most likely, but I'm not sure)
Jesus, I Come AKA Out Of My Bondage, Sorrow, and Night - (from RUF hymnal, probably in C... but maybe lower depending on what I do with the medley)
We Come To You - (Aaron Tate, from Derek Webb's new CD, in D)
Hungry - (D)
Lord, You Have My Heart - (D)
Possibly, possibly, possibly... My Deliverer for an offertory special thingy.
In His love,
Nate

We are, indeed, attempting this one. Wish us luck.
I don't think many people really realize this, but Rich Mullins music is ridiculously difficult, even though it often sounds exceedingly simple (or even simplistic). He has some of the strangest song structures ever used, the rhythms he uses are very tricky, and he very rarely does what you expect him to do. He keeps you on your toes. When we practiced My Deliverer for the first time, I started off at what seemed like a nice tempo, and it worked alright for the verse. When I got to the chorus, however, I was running out of breath and could hardly keep up with the music. I swear this song must run somewhere around 55-60 bpm, even though it doesn't really seem as though it is that slow. It's crazy.
In His love,
Nate

Yeah, he seems to have alot of songs where the base tempo is really slow, but the driving rhythm is faster, like a double time. It's deceptive.
Good luck.
Wish our worship team(and those in our area) safety this morning. Roads are icy like whoa. I don't know if I get to go to church today...
