Question:
"Thy word have I hid in my heart, that i might not sin against Thee." -Psalm 119:11
we can hide God's Word in our hearts through music so when we are in trials or tribulations we can sing a song to help us get through it all.
Answer:
very true...there are scripture based songs i heard as a kid little that i still remember to this day.
I've found quite a few songs largely based on Scripture (mostly Psalms) but usually they're not word-for-word
Answer:
So true... the first scripture that I ever memorized that I wasn't assigned to do was Colossians 3:22-23.
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men. Since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."
I was working at a really boring job making fiberglass reinforced plastics ( messy, itchy ) and I put it to what is really a not very good melody... however, the Scripture and the song still mean alot to me
Answer:
Yeah, totally. This is why I think it important to sing very biblical grounded songs. If we have songs with verses that are paraphrases of a Bible verse, those words are likely to stick in our heads. Music is a powerful memorization tool. If we can roughly memorize some verses through music, that's great.
