Answer:
"Ancient Words - G"
Are you taking any action to fix the nonsensical line "Let the ancient words impart."... Impart what?
Answer:
Not really. Since I don't see it as being theologically unsound, I don't feel a strong need to. Nobody has mentioned it as a distraction. I'm OK with the idea of poetry breaking the rules of grammar from time to time. I'm comfortable enough with my congregation that I'm not worried that somebody's singing it and thinking something ridiculous like "O let the ancient words impart...health and wealth for my personal benefit." And, finally, there's almost always some spoken context to this song, introducing it as a prayer for understanding before the sermon, which kinda implies what we desire to be imparted anyway. So, I don't see the line as a big deal.

As for the special music: Let's just say that doing the Noise We Make and The Reason a few songs afterward doesn't make for a good time for one's voice. We did The Reason in the original key (E), and although it didn't sound the greatest (my voice got really whiny because it was going out), it certainly sounded better than when Hoobastank did their own song at the VMA's.
Answer:
it's a youth emphasis, so we're doing a combination of stuff....
not in set order as of yet:
You Alone
How Great is Our God (Tomlin)
How Great Thou Art
Come Thou Fount
The Solid Rock
Holy is the Lord
Trading My Sorrows (the older folk absolutely love this song)
Days of Elijah (despite obvious criticism)
Beautiful One?
More Than Life?
Majesty
Consuming Fire OR Here I Am to Worship
...and another upbeat one. hehe.
This is Friday, so I'm not dead-set on it yet.
