22 songs?
Question: Ok...so for easter were doing a concert for easter sunday, and were doing a 22 song set, I think were doing a bit too much, what do u guys think? And what are you guys doing for Easter? Answer: Wow. I would think that might be a bit much. I mean, let's say each song is about 4 minutes long. 4*22 = 88 minutes. The biggest set we've ever done was about 10 songs and that felt pretty long. Is the concert the whole service? Answer: Yea the concert is basically the whole service, Its a bilingual service, so its in english and in spanish. Its gonna be tiring. The longest set we did before was Im pretty sure 10 songs PS-That new Explosions in the Sky Cd is amazing.. Answer: I think you should embrace the apostrophe. Your contractions called and said they were lonely without it. Answer: man...I think I did a 25 or so song set a couple times...but it was for a worship concert. I couldn't imagine doing it for Easter. Honestly, today we made it to "How Great Thou Art" (the fourth song in a five song set) and I was ready to wrap things up...sometimes less music can be just as powerful as tons of music. Answer: 22 is a bit more then average but you can do it. Answer: Originally Posted by thesteve ...sometimes less music can be just as powerful as tons of music. Yea.. Answer: I dunno, it depends. Usually, that is probably quite a bit too much. But if it is really like a worship concert, I personally think that that would be awesome. I would go. Answer: Yea, I could admit its gonna be pretty awesome. But its gonna be tiring as heck. What are you guys doing for your easter service? Answer: But its gonna be tiring as heck. See, that's the thing. Tiring for you or the audience? I know I would have a great time playing a long set like that but what about the audience? Might the length take away from their worship experience? Answer: Originally Posted by Kenny C. See, that's the thing. Tiring for you or the audience? I know I would love to be on either end of that deal. Answer: 22 Songs is a heack of a lot of songs. Sounds very exauhsting good luck with it though. Were obviously doing a good amount of upbeat songs, the youth gets really into the upbeat songs most of the time. The spanish upbeat songs are awesome, they make you want to dance, and there are a lot of them in there. lol. I don't know how their gonna respond, the longest set we have had before this was maybe 10 or 12 songs. I cant wait, Its gonna be an extreme amount of fun playing 22 songs. I just hope that our congregation gets into it like we expect Answer: The most I can get through in an hour, with minimal talking between songs is about 15. 22 songs is going to make for a really long morning. Answer: I suppose I didn't answer the second question...what am I doing on Easter? My church is hosting the San Diego sunrise service at the Spreckels Organ Pavillion in Balboa Park. From what I understand we've basically been given free reign over the service and are going to be able to do our own songs and what not. We're also doing our own service later in the morning...so I think one service is at 630 and the second is around 930. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
