Leading a Guitar Group??

Question:
I am looking for advice from the masses out there! I also need your prayers!! I am starting a weekly meeting of guitarists in our church. We will meet for the purpose of guitar fellowship and increasing the number of guitarists able to play with the worship team. I think we might even work on some stuff we can perform as a group. Has any of you done this? Is there any advise on what to do and what not to do? This is also my first attempt at leading a ministry, so any general advise on leading a ministry is appreciated also.
Answer:
I don't know what to tell you, really. Sounds like a good idea, though.
This happens to be my "weekly" guitar group in every manner except for actually playing. If you're going to have your guitar group actually play stuff, though, it can be challenging to inspire the talented and bring along the "weak" at the same time, playing the same music. I've been to short guitar conferences where part of the time we just spent one-on-one with another guitarist, showing each other a trick or new chord or something we had learned in the past week or two (or year or two)...

Answer:
Thanks, I feel blessed that our most talented guitarists seem to be the most excited about the idea because they are in the most need of the relief from the every week/several times a week performing grind.
